Meet Sir Wellington!

We would like to introduce you to the newest member of our team Sir Wellington T. Novel III, Esq. but you can call him Welly. He is the head of Collectables & Antiquities and is well versed in the preservation of documents. Being an amicable and gentlemanly fellow, he makes friends easily, especially with authors. I will pass this post off to him for his recounting of the day's events.

Jolly good! Welcome, welcome! Wonderful to meet all of you!

On August 11th in the year of our Lord, 2012 only an hour after my...ahem...making I had the great pleasure of meeting author Susan Dennard of Something Strange and Deadly fame. What a lovely creature she is! There was a brilliant reading of the first few pages of her exciting book - I do so love author readings, you really get a feel for the emotions of the characters - but it was rather dark. (They kept me tucked inside a bag! The audacity! Can you just imagine?)

When we finally met face to face she was kind enough to autograph me and even gave me a gift! (I do so appreciate being well prepared and a zombie-fighting parasol is such a thoughtful gift)

I know you'll be seeing more of me around, we have lots of plans! Wonderful plans!

So, what do you guys think of Sir Wellington? We'd love to hear your thoughts.

Still nothing, I know. I've been so behind. I blame the fact that I have a 34k+ word story in the works that is due in less than a month. D: It's stressing me out, dudes!

What do you think you'll read next?
Erin

These are just a few of the books I want to read, and I have no idea what to start first.

Amanda
I don't even have a clue at this point, I just want to finish the ones that I've been reading for the past month.

What are your answers? We'd love to know!

Top Ten Tuesday (5)

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.

Top Ten Book Romances That You Think Would Make It In The Real World.

Erin's Picks

1. Shane and Claire from The Morganville Vampires.
If they can stay together through everything that happens in Morganville, then they can stay together in any world.

2. Alina and Mal from Shadow and Bone.
Grew up together best friends that start to see each as a boy and a girl, then become bf/gf and are together forever. That's how I think it would go.

3. Hannah and Thierry from the Night World.
It would be one of those meet→insta-click→together forever romances.

Amanda's Picks

1.  Yelena and Valek from Poison Study.
Once they overcome their differences, these two would be unstoppable.

2. Alec and Magnus from The Mortal Instruments.
I feel like their book relationship would translate well into the real world. That, and their just so dang cute together!

3. Emma and Galen from Of Poseidon.
Soul mates. Enough said.

4. Kate and Edgar from Shadowcry.
Best friends. Boy has terrible crush, girl doesn't realize it. Boy saves girl time and again. Girl starts to notice. Love. Tah dah!

Lisa's Picks

1. Phillip Crane and Eloise Bridgerton from To Sir Phillip, With Love
These two start as pen-pals and finally decided its time to meet. It is a shaky beginning, but these two hazard the storm of angry older brothers, prank pulling children, and undeniable attraction. Their love could last through any time period.

2. Colin Bridgerton and Penelope Featherington from Romancing Mr. Bridgerton.
Another Bridgerton family member makes it into my pick. Penelope has always loved Colin, but he is a very clueless man. Yet, once Colin opens his eyes, this romance blossoms into a love that even you would be envious of.

3. Bran and Liadan from Son of the Shadows
This isn't a happy story, most of the time you are sobbing and crying for the two characters and the way they have to live without each other. I think that is what makes their love so great. They are tied together even when they cannot physically be. They can't stay away from one another. Love like that always endures.

Teaser Tuesday (2)

Teaser Tuesdays is hosted by MizB at Should Be Reading.

Amanda:
This week's teaser comes from:

Ree snorted. "Are you some kind of ghetto Kenobi? Come to teach me the ways of the Force so I can become a Jedi like my father?" Eastwood flashed her a surprised look, then shook it off and pulled the lightsaber prop from his coat. "It's what I had on hand."
If you're any kind of geek, this book is epic, awesome, and funny. Buy yourself a copy (ebook only) and read it, you won't regret it.

Erin:
My teaser is from:

To their credit, every single person at Interpol's world headquarters reacted in the calm, orderly way that one would have expected. To anyone observing from across the river, it looked like nothing more that a minor inconvenience—a drill. Exploding toilets, after all, did not an international incident make.
I wonder who caused the exploding toilets? *wink, wink*
